Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has set a target to make Punjab South Asia’s most Artificial Intelligence-enabled province by 2029, accelerating efforts to transform governance through modern technology and digital innovation.
A detailed meeting was held between Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Provincial Adviser for Artificial Intelligence Ali Mustafa Dar, where key initiatives under Punjab’s AI strategy were discussed.
The meeting focused on the formal launch of Punjab AI Vision 2029, the establishment of the world’s first AI-enabled Delivery Unit, and the formation of a high-level team to oversee the implementation of the Punjab AI agenda.
The participants also discussed an onboarding programme developed with the support of global experts, aimed at strengthening the capacity of government institutions to effectively adopt and utilize artificial intelligence.
The Punjab government plans to use AI and advanced technologies to improve decision-making, public service delivery, administrative efficiency and digital governance across the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision is to transform Punjab into a global hub of development and innovation by harnessing artificial intelligence, modern technology and digital governance.
Under Punjab AI Vision 2029, the provincial government is moving towards wider adoption of artificial intelligence, with the goal of positioning Punjab as a regional leader in AI-enabled governance and technology-driven public services.
