According to Rescue 1122, the emergency control room received reports of the boat accident and immediately dispatched rescue teams and ambulances to the remote site.

Initial reports suggested that several passengers were missing after the boat overturned. However, following an extensive rescue operation, authorities confirmed that three people had died, while seven others were rescued with injuries.

Rescue officials said preliminary information indicated that the tourists aboard the boat belonged to Punjab province.

Emergency responders reached the accident site, provided first aid to the injured, and shifted them along with the bodies of the deceased to Kalam Hospital for medical treatment and legal formalities.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

Woman Dies in Shangla Flash Flood

In a separate incident, a woman lost her life after being swept away by flash floodwaters while accompanying her daughter to a religious seminary in Puran Tehsil of Shangla district.

According to local residents, the incident occurred in the Gumiar Machkandi Khor area when the woman attempted to cross a rain-fed stream with her daughter. A sudden surge of floodwater swept both of them away.

Residents immediately rushed to the scene and managed to rescue the girl, while the woman was carried away by the strong current.

Rescue 1122 teams, the local administration, and volunteers launched a search and rescue operation. The injured girl was provided first aid before being shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After several hours of search efforts, rescuers recovered the woman’s body from the floodwaters and handed it over to her family after completing legal procedures.

The incidents come as heavy monsoon rains continue to affect several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting authorities to urge residents and tourists to avoid rivers, lakes and flood-prone areas during adverse weather conditions.
