Federal Minister for Law and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar has taken notice of the murder of Christian woman Saba Mehboob in Rawalpindi.
The Federal Law Minister has sent a formal letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab regarding the incident.
In the letter, Azam Nazeer Tarar directed the IGP Punjab to ensure a complete and comprehensive investigation into Saba Mehboob’s murder in accordance with the law.
The Law Minister emphasized that the investigation should be conducted on a priority basis to ensure the provision of justice.
Azam Nazeer Tarar has also sought a comprehensive report on the progress made in the investigation.
According to the Ministry of Human Rights, the incident took place in the Dhoke Ratta area of Rawalpindi.
An FIR regarding the incident has been registered at Ratta Amral Police Station in Rawalpindi.
The FIR was registered on September 3 on the complaint of the deceased woman’s stepbrother.
Following the Federal Law Minister’s notice, Punjab Police has now been asked to submit a report on the investigation and progress in the case.
