ISLAMABAD (MNN); Rawalpindi Police have foiled five separate attempts to allegedly smuggle 131 tonnes of flour into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, seizing multiple loaded trucks during coordinated operations.
According to police, the flour consignments were being transported from Islamabad, Rawat, Sargodha, Fort Abbas, and Rahim Yar Khan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Authorities confiscated all trucks involved after the drivers failed to produce valid transport permits or legal documentation for the flour shipments.
Meanwhile, Assistant Food Controller Rawalpindi Zafar Iqbal Rana has submitted a written complaint to Airport Police Station, seeking legal action against those involved. Authorities have initiated proceedings under the relevant laws.
Police said operations against the illegal transportation and smuggling of flour will continue without discrimination to ensure an uninterrupted supply of flour to the public and discourage hoarding and illegal trade.
