Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja inaugurated Huawei’s national-level Spare Parts Repair Center in Islamabad.
Huawei Pakistan CEO Ethan Sun was also present at the inauguration.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaza Fatima Khawaja said Pakistan is moving from being a consumer of technology towards becoming a creator, builder and exporter of digital solutions.
She said the new Repair Center is an important step towards strengthening Pakistan’s digital and telecom ecosystem, while developing local technical expertise and reducing dependence on overseas repair services.
Huawei Pakistan CEO Ethan Sun said the company is committed to building sustainable technical expertise in Pakistan through knowledge transfer and local capacity building.
The center provides repair, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance services for Huawei telecom equipment deployed across Pakistan.
The facility has 16 specialized repair desks and supports more than 180 equipment item codes covering wireless, microwave, digital power and access-network technologies.
According to Huawei, the center can process more than 10,000 modules annually and return over 6,000 repaired components to service each year, with an average success rate of around 60 percent.
The facility is expected to reduce repair costs and turnaround times, strengthen network resilience and help maintain telecom connectivity during emergencies and national disasters.
