LAHORE (MNN); Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has undergone major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital in Lahore, according to Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
In a post shared on X on Thursday, Aurangzeb said the chief minister successfully underwent surgery and was later shifted home after the procedure.
She added that despite being hospitalised, Maryam Nawaz remained engaged in official responsibilities and continued monitoring security, cleanliness and other administrative affairs across Punjab on the first day of Eid.
Following the announcement, federal Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja offered prayers for Maryam Nawaz’s health and recovery.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also wished her a speedy recovery, praying for her continued health, strength and well-being. He also praised her dedication to public service and leadership during her recovery period.
