KARACHI:MNN
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) hosted the PSO Dealers Excellence Awards 2026 ceremony in Karachi, bringing together dealers from across the country along with senior management and employees.
The awards were presented to PSO dealers who demonstrated outstanding performance in business operations, health, safety and environment (HSE), customer service and the adoption of innovative practices.
The ceremony was attended by PSO Chief Executive Officer Jawad Ahmed Cheema, Chief Commercial Officer Amir Zeb Khan, senior management, dealers and employees.
Addressing the ceremony, PSO Chief Executive Officer Jawad Ahmed Cheema said PSO is not only Pakistan’s largest fuel marketing company but also the country’s national oil company, a position that carries a significant responsibility.
Jawad Ahmed Cheema said that whenever fuel supplies are constrained, demand increases suddenly, routes become difficult or remote areas need to be served, the entire country relies on PSO. He said the company’s commitment is clear: to ensure the daily supply of fuel to Pakistan without exception.
He said this responsibility could not be fulfilled by the PSO head office alone, as dealers operating at petrol stations across the country play a vital role in serving consumers. According to him, PSO dealers are the foundation of Pakistan’s energy security and contribute on a daily basis to keeping the country moving.
The PSO CEO said the fuel market is changing rapidly, with new players, new business models and rising customer expectations transforming the sector.
Acknowledging that PSO has lost some market share, he said the company would focus on better petrol stations, improved services, quality standards and modern technology to regain its position in the market.
Jawad Ahmed Cheema emphasized that excellence at every petrol station is essential, including accurate fuel measurement, uncompromised quality and safety standards, clean outlets and well-trained staff.
He said customers should feel that they are receiving the best possible service at every PSO outlet. He added that satisfactory performance was not enough, as PSO aims to establish the highest standards in the market and continuously improve them.
The PSO CEO said the Dealers Excellence Awards were not merely an acknowledgment of last year’s performance figures but also a recognition of the partnership that plays an important role in turning the company’s strategy into reality.
He appreciated and thanked the dealers for continuing to serve customers on a daily basis, maintaining quality standards and playing their role in keeping Pakistan moving even under challenging circumstances.
Jawad Ahmed Cheema said that as PSO enters the next phase of its journey, the company will further invest in its dealer network, expect improved performance and share with its partners the benefits of staying ahead of changing market trends.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of Excellence Awards to dealers who demonstrated outstanding performance across various categories.
