The Mazloom Awami Tehreek Pakistan has alleged political victimization of its Chairman, Haji Sadiq Khan Achakzai, following an incident in Ziarat, Balochistan. During a press conference at the National Press Club in Islamabad, party leaders condemned the alleged mistreatment of Achakzai, the arrest of his personal security guards, and the registration of criminal cases against them.
Party spokesperson Asadullah Khan Haqqani and Rawalpindi Division President Nadeem Javed, along with other leaders, claimed that the action was politically motivated. They demanded an independent judicial inquiry, the immediate release of the detained guards and workers, and an end to what they described as interference in political activities.
According to the party, the incident occurred after Haji Sadiq Khan Achakzai visited Ziarat to express solidarity with the families of martyrs. They alleged that his convoy was stopped by police, he was questioned, and three licensed security guards were arrested over weapon licence-related issues. The party maintained that it has no complaints against the security forces but blamed the provincial government for the action.

The leaders also voiced concern over the overall law and order situation in Balochistan, urging the government to involve tribal elders, jirgas, and local leadership in efforts to combat terrorism and promote lasting peace through dialogue.
The party further called for the formation of a fully independent judicial commission to investigate the Ziarat incident and other recent developments, with implementation of its recommendations.
They also stressed that the people of Balochistan should receive priority over the province’s natural resources and called for greater opportunities in employment, education, and development. Referring to CPEC, they said development projects should directly benefit the people of Balochistan.
Regarding the repatriation of Afghan refugees, the party supported the policy in principle but urged authorities to ensure that patriotic Pakistani citizens and tribal communities are not subjected to unnecessary harassment during enforcement operations.
Concluding the press conference, party leaders said the Mazloom Awami Tehreek Pakistan is a registered political party with the Election Commission of Pakistan and is expanding its organizational network nationwide. They announced that an online membership drive would be launched soon and urged the government to uphold constitutional and democratic rights while engaging all political and tribal stakeholders for sustainable peace in Balochistan.
