A major administrative reshuffle is expected in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, with reports indicating that a decision has been made to replace the current Principal Information Officer (PIO).
According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally overseeing the appointment process for the new Principal Information Officer. The prime minister is also expected to conduct interviews of shortlisted candidates himself to select the most suitable and experienced officer for the key position.
Sources said that senior Ministry of Information officers Raeesa Adil and Shafqat Abbas are among the leading candidates under consideration.
Several other senior officials are also said to be in the running for the coveted post, while consultations continue at different levels.
Sources further revealed that the appointment of the new Principal Information Officer could be followed by a broader administrative reshuffle within the ministry, with changes expected in several key positions.
No official announcement has yet been made regarding the proposed transfers and appointments. However, sources believe that significant developments are likely in the coming days following the prime minister’s final approval.
