Islamabad/Quetta: MNN

The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has announced the suspension of all its political activities in view of the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan.

In a statement, senior BAP leader and former Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani said the province is passing through a critical phase, with security challenges posing serious concerns for the people.

He said that under the current circumstances, ensuring public safety and restoring peace must take precedence over political engagements. Consequently, the party has decided to temporarily suspend all political meetings, public gatherings, and organizational activities across the province.

Sanjrani expressed deep concern over the recent incidents of terrorism and violence, stating that the loss of innocent civilian and security personnel lives is a tragedy for the entire nation.

He emphasized the need for national unity against terrorism, urging all political stakeholders to rise above their differences and work collectively for lasting peace and stability in Balochistan.

The former Senate chairman also called on the federal and provincial governments to take effective measures to improve the security situation, protect citizens, and ensure the restoration of normal life in the province.

According to the party, political activities will remain suspended until the security situation improves, after which BAP will announce its future course of action.
