Aleema Khan Challenges Imran Khan’s Alleged Solitary Confinement in Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD (MNN); Aleema Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC), challenging the alleged solitary confinement of her brother and PTI founder Imran Khan, calling his detention unlawful and inhumane.

The petition, filed through Barrister Salman Safdar, claims that Imran Khan has been kept in solitary confinement for 22 hours a day, while his wife, Bushra Bibi, has allegedly remained in isolation for 24 hours daily. It further alleges that neither Imran’s family members nor PTI leaders have been allowed to meet him over the past six months and that no court order authorises such confinement.

The petition also raises concerns over Imran Khan’s health, claiming that his eyesight has significantly deteriorated during detention. Aleema Khan has requested the IHC to declare the alleged solitary confinement illegal and direct prison authorities to end the practice.

Meanwhile, the IHC is set to hear appeals filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi against their convictions in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case on Monday. The government has rejected opposition allegations regarding inadequate medical care and restricted access to personal physicians.
