Islamabad Police has announced the replacement of its Dolphin Squad with a newly established Capital Patrols Unit (CPU) as part of efforts to modernize policing in the federal capital.
According to police officials, the new unit will be equipped with 40 modern electric vehicles to enhance patrolling, improve emergency response, and strengthen law enforcement across the city.
As part of the restructuring, Islamabad Police has also carried out large-scale personnel transfers. A total of 32 Sub-Inspectors, 36 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and 32 Head Constables have been posted to the newly formed Capital Patrols Unit.
Officials said that personnel from the former Dolphin Squad will continue to serve in the new unit, ensuring that their operational experience contributes to more effective patrolling, faster response times, and improved public safety in the capital.
